Exciting News!

Most of you already know...but were moving home!!! I am soooo excited I can't see straight. It has been a long few months as Kyle and I have prayed and talked about the job opportunity that is bringing us home. We were really in search for Gods will for our family- but in the end- only learned that Gods will is not a specific place or thing, but rather the knowledge and wisdom to keep your priorities in line and choose based on what is best for your family...always keeping him first, of course. We are definitely stepping out in faith...but know that God promises to take care of those who trust and follow him.
So...to celebrate this long awaited homecoming, I have decided to offer my photography clients an awesome special. I'd like to think of it as a "I'm coming home"/ It's officially fall/ It's Christmas card time very "special" special.

I am so excited that I get to focus on my business again. I have definitely grown as a photographer in the past couple of years- and hope that you enjoy your pictures as much as I enjoy taking them.

I am offering this special for most of the month of November and the first two weeks in December. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Also- I would love if you would pass this on to any friends you know that might be interested.

Please feel free to visit my website for additional pictures and pricing. I strongly dislike the way blogger makes my pictures look...so please don't judge based on the quality of these! cringe.

God is good.

Dinner Dilemma

It's busy around these parts. Lots to do. So- Sunday when I sat down to make my weekly meal plan I was stuck. I wanted things that were easy to throw together, but still tasty- knowing I had a crazy week ahead and that I was a little tired of relying on my same ol' recipes. After a little blogging I stumbled upon Easy Meals for Moms. I quickly found three recipes that tempted my taste buds and left me eager to visit the site again. Now I wouldn't call any of these recipes "gourmet" so to speak- but if your a mom who has to feed a herd of demanding mouths- these will definitely do the trick...and taste GREAT. So far this week I have made dirty rice (ground turkey, bell pepper, onion, celery and Zatarans rice), Chicken Enchilada Casserole (definitely not my moms recipe, but totally different and oh so yummy) and tonight we're having Cream Cheese Chicken served over vermicelli pasta. It's in the crock-pot now and smelling awesome. I would recommend all three of these meals........and know I will be visiting Easy Meals for Moms again very soon. Check it out for yourself.

Always better with a pic! :)

Toddler Quote and Pic of the Day

Kids crack me up...especially mine. I love how innocent and simple their young minds are.

Today walking from the car to our front door L looked down and said:
"Mom- look at all these pretty yellow flowers in our garden."
Now- normally that wouldn't be funny- but the fact that he was referring to the weeds in our grass and not sunflowers in our "garden"...made it pretty cute. He actually said something else today that would top that...but I'm thinking it may be a bit inappropriate to share. You'll have to trust me on this one.

And now for a pic of my little ham.

Secret Project Revealed

Remember this stack of fabric from a few months ago?

It slowly turned into this after a lot of cutting and sewing.

And then into this after more sewing.

And then of course the "quilting " took place.

I tried it out on my bed...Mia liked it.

One full-size pic before it was sent off to it's new owner.

At it's final destination in my Mom's guest room.

I love the way the aqua binding turned out.

It's far from perfect...but I had so much fun making it. I'm already cutting into my next stack of fabric to make a throw for my couch.

family photos

It's been a long week.
A devastating week.
I am tired.
But through it all God is good.
He mends hearts and fills sorrow with laughter.
His footprints are ours when we can't seem to keep moving.
He is faithful to his word.
I can't help but to smile up at heaven today.
An angel is near.

Here is a peek at some family pictures I took about three weeks ago.

I'll take two, please.

The first days of fall are like an extra dose of serotonin. Happiness just oozes from my pores and the cool breeze is just enough to make my heart go pitter patter.

Reasons everyone should love fall:

Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte
Orange, Red and Gold
Clothes you haven't seen in a while (or if your lucky- maybe a few new ones)
Football
Sweats
Haunted Houses- definitely a thing of my past...but still love them.
Pumpkins and Gourds
Candles- ones that make your home smell all warm and cozy
My Anniversary :)
The Texas State Fair
Not Shaving your legs ALL the time
Homemade Soup
Halloween

Did I forget anything??? Now if somebody could just bottle this up, I would be a happy camper.

And yes- I did bribe my children to hug. Obviously the bribe wasn't good enough to get a picture of their faces as well.
